Our client, a consumer goods manufacturer in Des Moines is seeking a Buyer. In this position you will be working under the Materials Manager and are responsible for procurement, logistics and inventory levels of all assigned items.  This includes maintaining costs. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Timely procurement of all products assigned

• Maintaining proper inventory levels for assigned products

• Negotiating the lowest total cost for all assigned products

• Ensuring the proper logistics of all products assigned

• Cultivating and maintaining good communication between the company          and its supply base

• Presenting a professional appearance to the supply base

Requirements for the position include a four year degree and previous purchasing experience.  Also strong organizational skills, attention to detail and problem solving skills.
