Midwest Product Safety Engineer 06/12/03

We are now seeking a Product Safety Engineer to optimize the safety testing resources and system to assure product design safety and agency compliance to support our drive towards total customer satisfaction at our Webster City, Iowa location.

This position reports to the Engineering Services Manager, and is responsible for leadership, coordination and management of the product safety and agency issues for our laundry products division.

Primary responsibilities include the following:
• Serving as a liaison between agencies and Electrolux Home Products
• Assisting Product Engineering with new design and safety concerns related to compliance with current agency requirements
• Coordinating, assisting in and presenting in-house testing
• Monitoring engineering changes to relative material and component changes
• Reviewing and approving literature and warning labels as required by agencies
• Making inspection reports and photographs of laundry products identified in legal cases

We are seeking a motivated self-starter who is looking for the kind of challenge that understanding and participating in a total business can provide.  

A four year degree in Electrical Sciences is preferred. You should have electrical and mechanical laboratory experience as well as knowledge of business law and fault hazard analysis principles. You should have strong communication, organizational, presentation, and customer service skills. You should also have solid influential communication skills; confident decision making skills; hands-on personality; excellent analytical and problem solving skills; and experience with Microsoft Office products. Must be willing to travel.
