Our client, a leading eastern Iowa manufacturer is dedicated to providing growth and stability, and is searching for an energetic and passionate Procurement Manager to join their organization. If you aspire to be a key player in a dynamic organization this may be the opportunity for you! The preferred candidate will be degreed, preferably an MBA, and have proven experience in procurement and leadership. Primary responsibilities include establishing and approving sources of raw material and supplies, receiving quotes and sourcing bids. Also, supervising negotiation of purchase contracts, follow-up, scheduling and expediting deliveries. In this position you will be working closely with other departments throughout the plant. This position also will be reviewing and processing claims against suppliers; pursuing cost savings and price reductions while assuring quality and timely deliveries are maintained. It is imperative that the ideal candidate keep appraised of price trends, have the ability to make recommendations on timing and quality of purchases while building strategic partnerships with supplier base. This position supervises a staff of analysts, provides performance direction, evaluation and selection of department staff.
